Prem graduated from Birmingham Dental School in 2003. Since then he has acquired a large portfolio of dental practices across the North of England and has left clinical dentistry in favour of a managerial role within his company.
Prem opened the Academy of Clinical Excellence in 2008 as the only private postgraduate teaching facility of its kind in the UK. He is also the Director of an implant business, a dental import company, financial and dental software company and regularly lectures around the country on the business aspects of dentistry and how to make the most of opportunities within the profession today.
He will be taking the role of financial and managerial running of BDS Laboratory
Paul Perkins - Operations Director
Paul's career in dentistry began over 35 years ago when he joined the Royal Air Force as a Dental Technician in 1969.
He went on to work as UK Sales manager for both Ivoclar Vivadent and 3i Implants. Paul was also invited to work within the Laboratory Division of Boots, plc where he was involved running the lab and organising training of the dental teams.
Most recently, he has worked as a Sales Consultant with the DMG Group.
Paul is responsible for the operational systems involved in running BDS on a daily basis.
On an interesting note, Paul was awarded The British Empire Medal, Long Service and Good Conduct Medals by Her Majesty the Queen for his services in the Armed Forces.
Gag Sopal - Business Development Director
Gag started his career in the construction industry working as a design project manager. He went on to hold managerial roles in diverse companies and now brings this experience to the dental industry.
He is responsible for the financial operation of BDS as well as ensuring that our clients needs are meet on every level.
He brings the experience of helping to operate a number of private and NHS dental practices in West Yorkshire to BDS to ensure that our laboratory is tailored to meet the requirements of todays dental practice.
Outside of work Gag can usually be found up a mountain, camping or frequenting the drinking establishments of Leeds!
LJ Oakley - Director of Awesomeness
LJ worked in the retail sector for 9 years in a management capacity for the British Shoe Corporation before starting her dental career in 2000 when she joined the Malthouse Specialist Practice.
In 2009 she went on to become Referrals Manager at The Mall Specialist Dental Care in Manchester City Centre.
She joined BDS with the amazing title of 'Director of Awesomeness.' Lj is resposible for ensuring that all aspects of our service are of the highest possible standard, which includes monitoring remake rates, regularly liasing with clients to ensure we are meeting expectations and going out on the road to promote our services to new users - all done with a friendly smile! In the short time she has been here she has made herself an indispensible member of our team.
In her spare time LJ loves nothing more than tinkering around with her beloved vintage VW vans, partying to her jukebox and creating one of her whacky cocktails!
Sumbal Khalid - Quality Control Officer
Sumbal is born and bred in Manchester. She studied at Manchester Metropolitan University graduating with a BSc (hons) in Dental Technology.
After University, Sumbal went on to work in a specialist dental practice in the centre of Manchester with its own laboratory, focusing mainly on implantology and large aesthetic cases.
Sumbal joined BDS in 2011 as our in-house dental technician, giving support to dentists on any technical matters, and she is also responsible for the quality control of work in the lab.
She can often be found shopping till she drops or at the cinema but is often happiest with a brush in her hand creating one of her many masterpieces! Her other main interest is Thai-boxing - so be nice...as she packs a mean punch!
